Although last year set the bar high with the 2016 BET Awards, this year may have been just as amazing!
The highly anticipated award show was presented by Leslie Jones, opening with a monologue on being “old school” which completely fit the nights them.
Artists like Migos, Kendrick Lamar, Dj Khalid, Sza, Post Malone, Future, Gucci Mane & Bruno Mars had a part in the 20-plus performances.
Moments To Remember:
The girl group reunited for the night performing their number one hits from the ’90s, including “Understanding”, “Who Can I Run To” and “Just Kickin’ It”.
(Aka the baby who’s done more living than us all in less than a year) Made an appearance along side his father Dj Khaled performing “I’m The One” with Lil Wayne, Chance The Rapper and Quavo.
Chris Brown took the stage to perform his hit singles “Privacy” and “Party” which features Gucci Mane and Usher.
Although her performance included a couple technical difficulties, SZA (my favorite singer right now!) took the stage performing her songs “Love Galore” and “The Weekend” both featured on her new album “Ctrl”. Definitely one of the best performances of the night!
It’s safe to say Migos has currently been dominating the music world after being apart of the biggest music projects lately and dropping their album “Culture” including hit single “Bad And Boujee”, which they performed last night along side of “T-Shirt” & “Congratulations” featuring Post Malone and Quavo, which got the crowd up and dancing. They also took home the awards for Best Group and Best collaboration for “Bad And Boujee”!
Kendrick Lamar & Future:
Kendrick Lamar joined Future & dancers to perform a remix of Futures hit song “Mask Off” only hyping the crowd up more than they were before his appearance on stage. The night only got better for Kendrick after winning the title of “Best Male Hip-Hop Artist” and “Best Collaboration” for Beyonce’s hit song “Freedom” which he’s featured on!
Each award show I’ve watched so far have been very different from one another, and I’m really eager to see what they have to offer next year! This year was definitely one of the good ones.
